Responsible Gambling Has a New Chief Executive

Carol Stone will be replacing Stephen Dunmore on February 1, 2010.
By Karen D | Dec 8, 2009

Carol Stone has been appointed as the next Chief Executive of the UK's Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF) and Responsible Gambling Strategy Board (RGSB). Stone will move into the top job as of 1 February 2010 and lead a joint RGF-RGSB team.

The RGF and the RGSB are the bodies responsible for distributing funds raised by the gambling industry.  In conjunction with the Great Foundation (formerly known as the Responsibility in Gambling Trust), all three organisations coordinate the development and delivery of the research, education and implementation of a nation-wide responsible gambling strategy.

As commented on by Baroness Neuberger, Chair of RGSB and RGF, Stone brings a wealth of previous grant writing and managing experience to her new position as Chief Executive. Neuberger remarked that, "We are very pleased to announce that Carol Stone will be the Chief Executive of RGF and RGSB, particularly because she has such a strong background in grant making and commissioning".

Stone previously held the position of Chief Executive of the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund, worked as a grant writing consultant, held senior posts in arts and museum management at the Arts Council, the New Opportunities Fund and the Big Lottery Fund and held a variety of advisory roles on committees supporting victims of crime and major incidents, and performing arts bodies.

Stone will be replacing Stephen Dunmore who currently holds the position on a temporary basis as Interim Chief Executive until Stone's arrival next year. Prior to Dunmore, the position was held by Malcolm Bruce who left the RGF earlier this year to accept up a key position in the field of corporate social responsibility.
