William Hill To Feature At Digital Shoreditch FestivalPublished May 10, 2015
Sports betting operator William Hill be showing their latest software developments at the Digital Shoreditch Festival.
William Hill will be attending the Digital Shoreditch Festival in London from May 11th - 24th, displaying their latest innovations such as a 3D virtual horseracing game and a public developer site.
The company already has an innovations lab based in Shoreditch, so the festival is right on their doorstep, and as well as these developments, they will be hosting a panel session on new ideas in sports betting.
Innovations from William Hill at Shoreditch
Get The Race is a new app for Google Cardboard which offers users a full 3D virtual horseracing experience. Co-developed with UNIT9, Get the Race gives punters a jockey's eye view of the race, letting them look around at the other racers for a more immersive game.
WH Labs is a public developer site and API program that lets the technical community work together on sports wagering functions like user interfaces, log-in systems, bet placements and integrated odds. The site will allow people to access test areas for developing sports betting programmes, technical details and documentation on the business.
It is hoped that the site will lead to increased collaboration and innovation among technicians.
Shoreditch Panel Session
William Hill Innovation Directors Crispin Nieboer and Jamie Hart will also be hosting a panel on ''Enhancing the sports betting experience with VR, AR and wearables'' at the Shoreditch Festival. Commenting on the event, Crispin Nieboer said ''We have only been in Shoreditch for a year, but we're already benefiting hugely from harnessing the rich local environment for technical talent.''
Digital Shoreditch is seen as a further opportunity to highlight the opportunities at William Hill and help people access their API program.
